The Plaza de Educación proposes a pilot plan to have "the best education law possible"

The Plaza de Educación proposes a plan to have the "best Law of Education possible", in a hearing held on Saturday by representatives of the platform. The CAV Education Law will soon be presented, and the Plaza de Educación has pointed out that the bill should be based on the philosophy of the Educational Agreement to "make the necessary leap in the educational system".
Members of the educational community participate in the Plaza de la Educación, presented in 2020 with the objective of reaching a basic education agreement in the Basque Country. On Saturday appeared, among others, ikastolas of the Basque Country, schools and small teachers and parents.
In this sense, the platform considers that three axes must be developed: linguistic projects of educational centres, local educational projects and the updating of the Basque curriculum.
As for language, he claimed that each educational center can develop its own linguistic project, incorporating the sociolinguistic, historical, social and cultural perspective: “Taking into account our diglosic situation, it must be an integral project that turns the Basque language into a model of generalized learning.”
He argues that "every people has to agree on their educational project." They stress that municipalities, schools, agents and citizens must participate in education to develop educational villages. According to the platform, it is necessary to create spaces that promote collaboration between peoples and peoples and that can contribute to an educational system based on a "new advertising model".
Curriculum adapted to the new context
Finally, he claims the need to update the Basque curriculum, since it has been fifteen years since the Basque educational community designed the Basque curriculum for compulsory schooling. The Plaza de Educación has emphasized that since then there have been "many changes" in the Basque Country, which has been a "new vision of the world". "In this new context, it must be agreed how to ensure the transmission of Basque culture".
In the coming months, the Plaza de Educación will hold meetings with different agents to "make the leap towards Basque education".
