In October 2021, Tubacex workers returned to work after 236 days of strike. But in Ayala there are still six people who can suffer criminal consequences for participating in this strike. Three are Tubacex workers and the other three are citizens of the region. All of them require a sentence of about 20 years for the various events of the strike.
This Sunday, 11 June, at 12:00 a.m., a mass hearing has been organised to denounce this new case of repression and to give the keys to trials. The organization has called for an appointment to approach work clothes.
The three defendants who are Tubacex workers are required to be punished for 36, 21 and 18 months, with disorder and attacks on authority. For their part, the neighbours of the region claim a sentence of 4 years and 7 months in prison on similar charges, accusing them of participating in the Saratxo pickets.
