On Sunday afternoon there was a great tension in Tijuana, on the border between Mexico and the United States. Last weekend of 18 November, the last group of migrants arrived in the area. In total, there are about six thousand people. However, some Mexicans complain that they don't want there, they don't want to take refuge in the city center. Its manifestations are becoming almost commonplace.
More than a month has passed since they left Honduras and El Salvador. It was said that it was about 12,000 people, but today in Tijuana there are about 6,000. Others are on the east, on the banks of the Rio Grande, where Trump has established a wire barrier. The San Ysidro border, which is one of the most widely used internationally, and which crosses some 90,000 people a day, will also remain closed by Trump’s decision for a season, according to Democracy Now.
“The gate was drilled and hundreds of migrants began to cross the border quickly,” said journalist Alberto Pradilla on the Plaza Pública website. In any case, U.S. Border Patrol showed that they are well prepared. The answer was overwhelming with tear gas and ball gums, which made it difficult for migrants to breathe. Among them were many women and children.
Tension multiplied and the Mexican police intervened by sending a large police load to the border against the disturbances. About 40 “alarmed” migrants were arrested. The United States has announced that it will immediately deport migrants who are being detained, according to Trump. It also asks Mexico to do the same.
Some are already on the other side
A journalist from the web Buzzfeed has indicated that about 30 people are already in the territory of the United States. His goal is to seek asylum under the law, in which Trump said he would not accept these formalities. It remains to be seen whether or not they will achieve this, as the length of processing has doubled.
