The Basque rock team Errobi, formed by Anje Duhalde and Mixel Ducauk, received the 2024 Adarra Award yesterday. As usual, the honorees received the award from the City Hall of San Sebastian and Donostia Kultura on the stage of Victoria Eugenia, after which the Labortana couple offered a concert.
The honorees thanked the amateurs and the advisory council that proposed to the winners: “Live you! Because for us to have something we need there, if not, we are nothing!” Likewise, the Labortan group had a series of words for music in Basque: “Long live music! Above all, the Basque country goes up! Our only free territory!” said Anje Duhalde after receiving the prize.
The group turns 50 this year. According to the committee, “the Errobi group was decisive for the integration of progressive rock and psychodelia in Basque Music. From 1973 to 1985, the quartet led by Anje Duhalde and Mixel Ducau was at the forefront of Basque music and produced one of the most praised albums in the Basque Country: Path of Sleep. They built a bridge between generations, and many of the songs they created have joined the popular heritage.”
