The motorway linking Bilbao with Vitoria increases by 8.7%
- The toll on the AP-68 motorway has risen. In fact, the Spanish Government put a limit on the increase in tolls, but the new toll between Bilbao and Vitoria doubles that limit.
With the new year, the AP-68 motorway linking Altube (Álava) with Bilbao (Bizkaia) has increased by 8.7%. Specifically, the toll to be paid on the site of this motorway costs 50 cents of euro, compared to 5.75 euros in 2022. The AP-68 motorway is the shortest route between the capitals of Bizkaia and Álava. The price increase will also apply to all sections of the motorway.
The Spanish Government committed itself, in fact, to limiting the increase in tolls by 2023, saying that only a 4% increase would be allowed. The increase in the AP-68 motorway doubles this limit. If the limit set by the government were to be met, the toll of the motorway linking Altube with Bilbao would amount to a maximum of EUR 5.98.
Tolls on Gipuzkoa toll motorways have also increased in early 2023. In fact, tolls have increased by 2.25%, as anticipated last autumn.
