An 85-year-old man stabs his former partner in the Lakua neighborhood
- The Local Police of Vitoria-Gasteiz has arrested the 85-year-old aggressor on charges of attempted murder. The victim, who has tried to dodge the knives, was injured in the hands and arms of several people.
The last case of male violence in Vitoria-Gasteiz was recorded at 16:30 this Sunday, in the Lakua-Arriaga neighborhood. According to the newspaper El Correo, in the course of a discussion, an 85-year-old man assaulted his ex-partner with a knife on General Gaskets Street.
According to police sources, the alleged aggressor tried on several occasions to stab the victim, who showed obvious signs of violence. The woman defended herself with her hands and, as a result, received several stab wounds in her arms, according to the same sources.
Several Lakua neighbors immobilized the aggressor and held the man, who later called 092. Municipal police patrols and ambulances immediately appeared on the street of the General Boards. The former arrested the aggressor, while the latter took the woman to the hospital to be treated for the wounds she had in her arms, which is out of danger.
After spending the night at the police station in Agirrelanda, the alleged aggressor will be transferred this Monday, or no later than Tuesday, to the Court of Violence against Women in Vitoria-Gasteiz. He could be accused of an attempt at murder, so the judge will decide whether he is released or is allowed to enter prison.
