The Association of Dance Professionals pays homage to women who dance professionally in 40 years
- The Association of Professionals of the Dance of the Basque Country (ADDE) wanted to value the work of the generation of women who have participated professionally in the dance since the 1980s on International Dance Day (April 30). To do so, they have paid tribute to Ana Remiro, Alicia Gómez, Ana Rosa Iii and Laura Etxebarria. With this recognition they wanted to remind all the women that in the 1980s they took their first steps in promoting dance at the CAV and opened their doors.
The students of Dantzerti have gone through the trajectories of the four dancers and, uncovering the biography of each of them, have offered each one a piece of dance. The protagonists of the event were very excited and wanted to thank all the people who accompanied the attendees to their respective careers. Finally, with the help of several slides and images, they have remembered some passages of their professional career.
Representatives of a generation
Laura Etxebarria is one of the creators of the artistic space The Foundry of Bilbao and founded the first contemporary dance company of Bizkaia: Linings. He has also been the driving force behind the Dantzaldia and Leku-Leku festivals.
Ana Rosa Third is a dance teacher at the CDART dance school in Getxo. After working as a soloist in classical dance in several companies, he started his teaching career and graduated in classical dance pedagogy.
Alicia Gómez is a PhD in Pedagogy and a Bachelor of Psychology. After completing higher studies in classical and contemporary dance, he worked professionally for ten years. She is a dance researcher and is currently a professor at Dantzertin.
Ana Remiro began her dance studies at the Conservatory of Dance in San Sebastian and later trained in contemporary dance in France. He has danced in several companies and has been a dance teacher for 25 years. He is currently a professor at the Municipal School of Music and Dance in Donostia-San Sebastián.
