The 2024 budget of the Valencian government amounts to EUR 31.520 million, as published in the Official State Gazette (BOE). Well, Valencian President Carlos Mazón said that almost the same amount of money – EUR 31.4 billion – will be needed to deal with the damage caused by the cold drop, according to the first forecasts. The Spanish Government has announced a "first rapid calculation" of the damage, with EUR 2.6 billion in transport infrastructure.

The Valencian President, Mazón, has asked the Spanish Government to devote this amount to cleaning houses, buying new vehicles and repairing or rebuilding infrastructure, as well as creating an inclusion income for those neighbours who have suffered "the most serious damage". The Valencian Government will also put money, a sum of EUR 250 million, for the reconstruction of the areas affected by the storm.

Request for the resignation of Macón

When he came to the press conference to report on the assistance requested from the Spanish Government, there have been numerous calls against President Carlos Mazón and requests for resignation. In fact, to think that there are empty weather factors behind the deaths by the storm in Valencia – at least 218, according to the latest accounts – and the damage, would be silly, as Urko Olaapaza said in this news. And, therefore, many people have denounced the emergency management carried out by the Generalitat.

It has been a week since the terrible events, which they have described as terrible. The weather agency Aemet issued a red warning from the first hour of the morning, the water confederation also gave the alarm for noon, and almost eight hours later the government of Carlos Macón activated the red warning and the announcements for the mobile. Moreover, Mazón himself in the early afternoon, when the worst of the storm was yet to come, said that the situation was “stabilized” and that the worst had happened. The President of the Valencian Community has denied this error on social networks by the Valencian Government.

Then, to put it mildly, post-emergency management has been unfortunate. The aid comes late, even a week later, and no one doubts that it comes late or drop. Meanwhile, the Valencian Generalitat, ruled by pp, and the Spanish Government of the PSOE are a giant step away. And so are the political parties, the media on their line are in the same direction. There is nothing more to do with the articles of opinion and editorials of El País, criticizing the actions of Mazón and the PP, and of El Mundo, shedding the PSOE.

Faced with the mismanagement of the emergency, there are many messages that have spoken against the functioning of the statutes of autonomy. What is more, there have been delays in the formalities, and so there have also been those who have spoken in favour of a single central government.

Consequences of the damage in Valencia in the Basque Country

It is no wonder that the prices of certain products, such as oranges, rise. But before that, it's already affecting companies. In fact, several suppliers of Basque companies are located in Valencia, including the German car company Volkswagen, located in the Landaben polygon of Pamplona/Iruña.

On Monday, the ship suspended two shifts of work due to serious damage to the facilities by its three major suppliers. In any case, according to EiTB, "normal" is expected on Tuesday.
