25 years after the death of battalion commander Gernika, Kepa Ordoki
- Twenty-five years have passed since the death of battalion commander Gernika, Kepa Ordoki, on 28 November. To commemorate this event, the Kepa Ordoki Memoria Histórico Bidasoan association will carry out various activities between 27 November and 1 December in Hondarribia, Irun and Hendaya.
Singing and honoring “Eusko Gudariak” was fired on time in 1993 at the Hendaya cemetery. In the words of Priest Mikel Epaltza, Ordoki “had never asked for a personal glory and had only wanted one thing: the freedom of his people.” A quarter century later, the memory of the commander has been declining and for Kepa Ordoki MHB, the anniversary of death, “is the perfect excuse for recovering Ordoki’s life and developing a memory exercise within him.”

"The Gernika Battalion, the hope of freedom"
29 November, at 19:30 hours, in the space Palmera Montero de Irun. The documentary "The Gernika Battalion, the Hope of Freedom (1945-2015)" depicts the history of a Basque military group that fought against fascism and in favour of allies. The story begins in April 2015 with the tribute to the gudaris in the Pointe de Grave.El script of this documentary is written by journalist Franck Dolosor and will be in the Guipuzkoan capital on the day of the broadcast.
Kepa Ordoki and historical memory
30 November at 19:00 in the South Room of the Hendaye Zokoburu Building. Through a colloquium, the life, context and memory of Commander Kepa Ordoki.Iñaki Egaña, President and historian of the Basque Memory Foundation, and Alberto Unamuno, member of the Association Memorial of the Forgiven Life. The colloquium is expected to be open, encouraging the participation of attendees.

1 December, at 12:30, in front of the Gernika Tree of Irun.Kepa Ordoki, Bidasotarra of the Gernika Battalion and the people who have fought for freedom, democracy and social justice in the valley will be honoured through a simple act.
The MHB association Kepa Ordoki recalled that “the respect required by historical memory is essential for the development of the future of peoples and free and supportive people. That is why we call on the neighbours and neighbours of Bajo Bidasoa to join in the recovery and dissemination of the truth, between 27 November and 1 December, in the activities that will be carried out”.
