The President of the Ikastolas Federation, Koldo Tellitu, made the decision public at a joint press conference with the leaders of Herri Urrats. The festivities of the ikastolas, which are usually held in spring, were postponed to the autumn, and now this year’s editions have been definitively suspended. “We had to make this decision with pain, there was no other solution. If all the activities scheduled for the months of August and September have been suspended in Euskal Herria, it was impossible for us to stay safe...”, said Tellitu on social networks.
The annual festivities for the Federation of Ikastolas are an important source of income. TELLITU explained that the possibility of "a great event offering the whole of Euskal Herria" is being studied in order to deal with the harm that it will bring them not to celebrate this year.

SEASKA President Peio Jorajuria explained that the feast of Lake Senpere represents one third of the income of the year, so this year’s suspension puts the model “in doubt”.
