The objective of the campaign begun this week by the family and friends of the soccer player is to find the body of Andrés Jaso Garde Garde. According to them, it could be buried in a mass grave of the Asturian town of Cangas de Onis, in southern Spain.
It was Andrés Jaso Garde, a footballer born in 1912 in the Navarra locality of Melida. During his career as an athlete he has worked in teams such as Osasuna, Zaragoza, Sabadell, Levante, Valencia and the Sporting de Gijón. When the Civil War broke out he was in Asturias, although he arrived as a young man, it was his final destination: He died in an air bombardment in 1937.
"Today, almost a hundred years later, his remains, like those of many others, still don't know where they are," he added. Her nephew Aurea Jaso has been searching her entire life. Today he is 93 years old and, since he was a child, has not interrupted the search for his father, his brother and Andrew's corpses. After the investigations, "we believe that Andrés can be found, since he can be in a mass grave in Cangas de Onis". The discovery of his remains would finally allow Aura and his family, who, after more than eighty years of disappearance, would celebrate a dignified funeral.
Thus, Aurea and Andrés will be the axes of the campaign, but not the only visible faces. "Many public people would join him, especially soccer players, showing his image and support on social networks and social networks. They'll help us see the story of the former Osasuna player, and so maybe they can find some new hint."
This campaign will be held throughout the month of August in Pamplona and Navarra, mainly through social networks and local media. As of September, on the other hand, they will try to increase the influence outside the borders of the Basque Country, in the cities of the other teams where Jaso played. On the other hand, the intention is that all League teams visiting the Sadar participate by photographing their captains with the players of the Rojillo team, with images of Aurea and Andrés.
In addition to disseminating it through social networks, it is planned to publish two books that collect the history of Andrés and make the documentary that will explain the initiative.
