Spain is going well, the PP said during one of its famous campaigns under Aznar. PNV tells citizens time and again that Euskadi is going well, and the message has stuck in the head of 37% of voters. The idea which is the firm basis for PNV votes has caught many other voters with the "we're going well" idea over the last four years, from all the way from the PP to EH Bildu.
The paradigm of centrality, stability and moderation, PNV has a red carpet to governing with ease, as long, that is, as social problems which cannot be swept under the carpet do not spoil it all.
How will they do it? However they want. The most probable thing is that they will use the PSE's support, the party closest to them, and everything points towards that. That could be fatal for the PSE, but it is hard to imagine PSE taking a truly social route along with Elkarrekin Podemos and EH Bildu. What is more, PNV would also be able to make up the majority of 38 votes along with the centre-right PP, if it dared to do so.
The left in trouble
During the 2012 elections EH Bildu competed with PNV for first position. During this year's elections, Podemos' show of strength led people on the left to dream of a change. But as the polling day drew closer, the dream fell apart, EH Bildu and Elkarrekin Podemos failing to compete for first place.
In fact, rather than thinking about coming first, EH Bildu had enough on its plate with finding a formula for recovering from its painful loss of votes in other, previous types of election. Elkarrekin Podemos still rejects the idea of announcing going into anything with EH Bildu; as well as being competitors, the fact that Podemos has its head offices in Madrid still bears an influence.
Seeing the results, then, it is easy to think that everything in our institutions will carry on as until now. PNV will concentrate on promoting the economy, as it has until now. Seeing the strength of right-wing centralism in Spain, there is little space for promoting self-government, and still less so if there is confrontation with Madrid: “Vade retro Catalonia”.
Wind from Colombia
However, having vanquished the threat from EH Bildu, the ordered resolution of the Basque conflict may be addressed during this parliament, above all because it would have greater support than ever in the Basque Parliament.
The influence of the peace process should bring us more than documentaries and reports, above all with almost 400 prisoners spread out all over Spain and France. This was not an issue during the campaign, but it should be during the parliament.

In this series of articles, it should now have become clear that venture capital has created a system in which two types of companies become global giants: companies with bad business models but good marketing, or good business models and horrible impacts on society. This... [+]
One of the confusing aspects of the tech industry is that from a distance all the companies can seem the same. They use apps, have similar design styles, are based in hip urban centers, and strangely have millions of dollars without making any money. In part, this series is... [+]

Almost all of the negative public attention that has recently been plaguing Glovo has been focused on the exploitation of their riders. This a welcome change of perspective but it also leaves out a significant part of the story: the restaurants that “collaborate”... [+]

If anyone is likely to have a gun at any time, society and daily life feel the consequences. Police shot first and ask questions later, and the possibility of being shot for absolutely no reason becomes a practical reality of going to work, going out with friends, and simply... [+]
In my Larrun article Glovalization, I attempted to call attention to the way that Glovo tries to pit its employees – oops, contract laborers – against each other in a zero-sum competion and a game-like application, and I predicted that this type of ingrained... [+]
