In Sangüesa there was a popular rebellion against Castilian invaders, after soldiers beat a citizen. The relationship between the soldiers and the inhabitants of Sangüesa was very bad, as the Castilians kidnapped the Sangüeños to serve them. With the beatings, the Sangüeños, irritated, took to the streets to face the soldiers. The Castilian occupants had to leave. In the riots two Sangüeños and two soldiers died. In a few weeks the Castilian troops returned by force.
