Ho Chi Minh arrived in the Basque Country that would become the national hero of Vietnam. He was a member of the delegation of the interim government of Vietnam and intended to negotiate independence with the French Government. The delegation spent a few days in Lapurdi. Besides watching ball games and Basque parties, the celebration of exits to the sea is documented.

The negotiations were concluded without agreement and a few months later the war broke out in Vietnam.
