Shootings between strikers in the Mining Area and the Spanish army during the October Revolution

During the October Revolution there were shootings between strikers in the Mining Area and the Spanish army. The insurrection called the day before by the PSOE and UGT had a continuity in the working groups of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa – as we saw yesterday in the case of Arrasate. In the mining area, 3,000 strikers got regional control and faced military intervention for several days. They stayed until October 15, but the revolution continued as elsewhere, it ended up failing. The labour movement in general suffered strong repression, and workers and their families had the courage to challenge.
