The Soviet Union, the first working state, is born. Following the October Revolution of 1917, the Soviet Socialist Republics of Russia, Transkaukasia, Ukraine and Belarus joined. Then more republics were added. It provoked a strong international earthquake and radically conditioned the geopolitics of the 20th century, practicing socialism until competing with the hegemony of the U.S. capitalist model. It was dissolved in 1991.
