The oil platform Petrobras 36 suffered an accident on the Brazilian coast. There were two explosions on the platform, causing a worsening of the platform. Because of the bending, the 33,000 ton structure that was then the largest platform in the world flooded and five days later sank with 1,500 tons of unrefined oil. Eleven workers died in the accident.
