Workers and soldiers from the Community of Paris demolished the column of the Plaza del Vendôme, on which was the statue of Emperor Napoleon I. The monument was a memory of the battle of Austerlitz and was shot down by altecing the war. After the army stepped into the Community, the government rebuilt it.
