The Pamplona musician Pablo Sarasate was born. He was one of the most outstanding violinists of his time and played virtuous and popular melodies in the most representative theatres in the world. He was a vasquist, liberal and homosexual, hated the retrograde Pamplona. He died in Biarritz in 1908.
