It was stolen and destroyed in the monastery of Roncesvalles by Castilian soldiers

In the monastery of Roncesvalles it was stolen and destroyed by Castilian soldiers. Spanish and Beamedonian soldiers fleeing the army of Navarre captain Jaime Belza de Medrano took refuge in Roncesvalles. The Navarros besieged the monastery, but when the Spanish reinforcements arrived they had to flee. Leaving the monastery, the Castilian men defeated the Navarre abbey, so old and symbolic. Since the conquest of Navarre, the Castilian people also placed the Navarre clergy on the border, putting the defenders of their regime in charge.
