The Ondarroa municipal corporation showed its full support for the disobedience campaigns being carried out to stop the Lemoiz nuclear power plant. He committed to stop domiciling Iberduero receipts. Other municipalities in the Basque Country took similar decisions in those years, calling their municipalities “villages without nuclear energy”. For example, in 1979 the City of Lekeitio banned vehicles transporting radioactive materials into the village.
