Workers occupied the Firestone tyre factory in Ohio and started a sit-down strike at their jobs in the United States. The fight began with the dismissal of affiliated workers and not recognized by the United Rubber Workers union. The strike extended to other tyre factories and the union managed to implement it in the United States.
