The gigantic protest by the indigenous Ogoni people in Nigeria against the destruction taking place in the Shell region

In Nigeria, 300,000 people from the indigenous Ogoni people peacefully protested against the destructions that the oil and gas multinational Shell was carrying out in the territory. The initiative is part of the celebrations of the Year of Indigenous Peoples. The oil fields of the Ogonilandia region in the Niger River Delta were expropriated and subjected to repression and murder following protests, thanks to cooperation between Shell and the Nigerian army. It was the biggest protest against such a multinational.
