Pedro Mariskala of Navarra gave himself in Roncal along with his 18 captains in the uprising of recovery of the kingdom of Navarra. It was discussed with Spanish colonel Villalba, who, if Mariskala was delivered, had to free the other Navarros soldiers. He was a prisoner in Simancas until he was found dead in a cell in 1522. Pedro Mariskala was the military with the most experience and courage among the Navarros’ legitimists, and his capture reduced the chances of recovering the kingdom.
