Pancho Villa, one of the leaders of the Revolution, was born in Mexico. Aware of the need for agrarian reform, he worked to distribute the land of the large landowners among the peasants and to reduce the prices of basic food in the territory where he ruled. He was killed in an ambush by his rivals.
