African-Americans Tommie Smith and John Carlos got the first and second place on the 200-meter test at the Olympic Games in Mexico, got on the podium, and when they put the U.S. hymn, they fired with the fist of the Black Panthers to reclaim the civil rights of black citizens. They took off the medals.
