Marina Ginestà, a 17-year-old anti-fascist militant, was photographed by photographer Juan Guzmán. At the outbreak of the 1936 war, he was a militant in the youth of the PSUC and collaborated with the correspondent of the newspaper Pravda of the USSR Mikhail Koltsov. Koltsov described it as a model of female emancipation.
