The Nazi resistance midwife and Larcade kidea.Marie were born in Biarritz Marie Politzer. When the Nazis occupied part of Ipar Euskal Herria, along with her husband Georges, he went underground, a communist militant and founded the journal L’Université Libre. The marriage was arrested in February 1942 and deported to Marie Auschwitz in early 1943. He died in March 1943 under typhus. In his honor he has a street in Biarritz.
