Maria Lorena Barros was killed by the Philippine military, founder of the Makibaka women's militant organization. Shortly afterwards the government declared the war situation and went underground. He was arrested in 1973 and was one of the main Filipino political prisoners until he managed to escape prison, rejoining the guerrillas. Three years later he was ambushed and killed there.
