The Mapuches began an uprising against Spanish colonization. The Spanish king Philip IV authorized the sale of the indigenous people revealed as slaves, causing the Mapuche anger. They killed slave owners and burned many properties of the Spaniards. Finally, the Spaniards managed to brutally tread the uprising.
