Lazkao Txiki was born. Born as Joxe Miguel Iztueta Kortajarena, was a well-known bertsolari. In 1964, Gipuzkoa's txapela was introduced and the following year he was Euskal Herria's runner-up. As in the Bertso he talked with a lot of humor, and in 1998 ETB premiered a series of cartoons about his life. He died on 3 April 1993 at the age of 66.
