It was a battle of Larrun or Bidasoa between French troops and Spanish and Anglo-Portuguese allies. The French came from the loss of the cities of Vitoria and San Sebastian, as well as the battle of San Marcial, and met to defend positions in Iparralde. The next day the French retired from the location so as not to be surrounded. The most important victims were Irun, Bera, Azkaine, Ainhoa and the area’s neighbours, who were abused and robbed by thousands of soldiers.
