The United States began the war in Kuwait and Iraq following the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq in Saddam Hussein. They did not find much resistance and the Iraqi army fled the desert “road of death”. In total, 240 Americans and 100,000 Iraqis died. The war was broadcast on television as an exercise in propaganda, concealing the barbarities of the Americans. It was later discovered, for example, that 8,000 Iraqi soldiers were buried alive in the desert after surrender and disarm.
