Posada Herrera, minister of the Spanish Government, banned Euskera on the street

Posada Herrera, minister of the Spanish Government, banned Euskera on the street. In the areas where the “dialects” lived, where it was said that Euskera, Catalan, Galician and the rest of the languages were Spanish dialects, by means of a Real Orden regulated that the labeling should be limited only to Spanish names. 36 years later, in 1896, the Council of Gipuzkoa recommended that municipalities use Basque and Spanish in the names of the streets.
