Anti-fascist Johanna Kirchner was executed by the Nazis in Berlin prison. When Hitler came to power, he fled to France. From there he collaborated with the German opposition, especially the socialist party SDP to which he belonged. In 1942 Vichy’s collaborative regime stopped him in France and left him in the hands of Gestapo. Even though he was initially sentenced to ten years, the Nazi courts reviewed his case and decided to decapitate on them for treason.
