Jean Hiriart-Urruti died in Hazparn, one of the first Basque journalists. This priest was the founder and director of the bilingual weekly Eskualduna since 1887, where he wrote numerous newspaper articles. Koldo Mitxelena considered him a teacher of the prose and Piarres Laffite considered him the first Basque journalist. He wrote in labortan with the bajonavarro.
