In a slave boat 140 malgaxes were raised and control of the vessel was achieved. Kidnapped to sell slaves to the Dutch in Madagascar, they took him to South Africa. Stacked in nefarious conditions, they were forced to do the boat's work and entertain white sailors. In the course of a gun cleaning order, they took the opportunity and got control of the boat. They took him three weeks until, with cheats, he returned to Madagascar and took him to South Africa, where they were sold as slaves. The two leaders of the uprising, documented as Massavana and Koesaaij, were imprisoned on Robben Island, the first died at the age of three and the second remained in prison for 20 years.
