700 Irish Brigade soldiers joined Francoists

700 Irish Brigade soldiers joined the Francoists. They belonged to the fascist movement Blueshirts, with ultra-liberal and anti-communist positions. In the Jarama War in Andalusia, by a misunderstanding, they faced the Falangist battalion of their sides in the Canary Islands. In April 1937, Franco dissolved the Irish Brigade and sent the soldiers back to Ireland.
