The child strike begins in Barcelona. In the midst of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera, the children of Cristallerías Planell, one of the largest glass manufacturing companies in Catalonia, mobilized against the harsh working conditions. The business was based on the work of these apprentices who barely paid. This changed when Francesc Pedra Argüelles, 11, mobilized her young co-workers. In a short time the solidarity strike spread throughout Barcelona and improved working and salary conditions.
