The Haitian Revolution begins when 100,000 slaves rise up with weapons in the French colony of Saint-Domingue against the government. Thirteen years later, in 1804, the Revolution paid off, abolishing slavery and forming the first black State, the First Haitian Empire. They never forgave them, and Haiti remains the poorest country in the world.
