Gabriel Aresti dies. From the 1960s on, he was one of the most important Basque poets, a pioneer in bringing our letters to the city and to social issues. It had a great influence as a public intellectual, promoting, among other things, the Basque Country batua. He was only 41 years old when he died of liver disease.
