10 million workers started one of the largest general strikes in French history in May 1968

10 million workers began one of the largest general strikes in French history in May 1968. The workers arrested the country against the repression suffered by the Sorbonne students mobilized the previous days. Workers and students gathered, organized Action Boards and opened the May 68 workers front.

The students acquired control of the University of Sorbonne and claimed permanent occupation, and used it to hold political debates and constant meetings, as you can see in the top photo.
