A Falangist and a Socialist were killed in San Sebastian in two attacks

A Falangist and a Socialist were killed in San Sebastian during two attacks. Two days earlier on Ondarreta Beach there were great battles between Falangists and Socialists. Despite being only a hundred members in Gipuzkoa, the far-right party caused many conflicts. Thus, the president of Falange in Gipuzkoa and president of the Hotel Management Association of the city, Manuel Carrión Damborenea, was shot by workers on Prim Street.

At that evening, as a revenge, the Falangists murdered the socialist Manuel Andrés Casaus in Peña and Goñi Street, politician of Acción Republicana and director of the newspaper La Prensa, an article he had just sent to the press to criticize Carrión's death. Thousands of people took to the streets to report this second murder. The October Revolution of 1934 was about to come and the atmosphere of tension was immense.
