The first newspaper in Basque history began to be published: Date. In the middle of the 1936 war, they decided to turn into a newspaper what used to be the Basque section of the Euzkadi newspaper, which forced the newspapers to reduce the number of pages. It lasted six months under the direction of Manuel Ziarsolo. It was the first newspaper in Basque history and disappeared when the Francoists took Bilbao and had to flee to save their lives.
