The broadcast of Euskal Telebista begins. Elene Lizarralde and Mari Jose Insausti presented this first instalment and sent the message of New Year’s Eve from President Carlos Garaikoetxea. As recorded in the founding minutes, Euskal Irrati Telebista was born with the aim of normalizing the Basque. Then, unlike Catalonia, ETB2 created the second channel in Spanish and since then many more resources have been allocated to this second channel. Watch the first few minutes on video.
