Egin workers published the Basque Newspaper Información. The day before the Spanish police closed the newspaper Egin and the radio by order of Judge Baltasar Garzón. In 2009, the Supreme Court declared the unwarranted closure, but eleven perpetrators were imprisoned for years. In addition, Egin’s debt of EUR 4.7 million was subsequently charged to the Gara newspaper.
