Etxebarri's 900 'Strip Rolling' workers started a hard 163 day strike, the longest of Francoist times.

The 900 Etxebarri Strip Lamination workers began a hard 163 day strike, the longest of Francoist times. It started with wage cuts, but when strikes were banned during Franco, resistance to the regime became a demonstration. A solidarity network of women and family members of workers, students and other workers was essential to maintain the struggle. However, the police stepped hard and did not comply with the workers’ demands.
