Spanish police closed the newspaper Egin and radio by order of Judge Baltasar Garzón

The Spanish Police closed the newspaper Egin and the radio by order of Judge Baltasar Garzón. “Did anyone think we would not dare?” said Spanish President José María Aznar. Egin was a very uncomfortable journal, especially at the head of Pepe Rei for his research reports. The project started in 1977, thanks to 40,000 citizens who, in addition to their founders, contributed money. In 2009, eleven years after the closure, the courts described the closure as illegal.
