Bixente Perurena Peru and Angel Gurmindo Stein were killed by the GAL in Hendaia. The two refugees experienced strange movements in the vicinity of their homes a few days earlier, and went to report to the Hendaia police station. The police chief in charge of the fight against terrorism did not want to take them, but they were told they would take it into account. That afternoon they were killed in Perurena's house shooting with a metralleta. The following day thousands of people demonstrated in Hendaia and the following day the HB called the general strike in Hego Euskal Herria.
