Benita Asas Manterola was born in Donostia. He was the director of two of the most important feminist journals of his time: Female Thought and Female World. He was also president of the Spanish National Women's Association. It contributed to the creation of the feminist movement of the Spanish State. In 1940, accused of being left-wing, the Franco regime condemned him to the desert. In 1942 he asked for a toilet and went to Bilbao. He died in 1968.
